love+sorry=?

here's the deal. have you heard of some totally mind blowing earth quaking heart breaking quote that makes some of us goes, 'wow, that's so true and sweet!' but it just do not make any damn sense in your brain? well, i heard of one. and hell, it came from one of my favorite author who happened to be a great linguist. i love you man, but truly, this is the stupidest thing you have ever wrote.

'love means never having to say you are sorry'

uh, come again?

'love means never having to say you are sorry'

but, adibah, maybe you are reading it out of context?

well, maybe i am reading it out of context, given that i have not read this particular novel (title: love story) of Mr Segal, but, have you heard, people are throwing this line around to their loved ones.

so, we come to the question, what exactly is my point?

my point is, saying sorry is a MUST when you did something wrong. and saying sorry is a MUST when you love someone, because when you are with someone you love, that means you are comfortable around them. when you are comfortable around them, you sometimes says something mean you don't mean, or something stupid you don't mean, so something crazy when you are PMS-ing.

conclusion; if you love someone, they should be the first person you apologize to if the circumstances require it. not any other way.

because bottled emotions and angers are the worst enemy to any relationship. saying sorry is simple, and it makes a lot of difference.

some interesting facts about this popular quote;

1. towards the end of the 1972 comedy 'What's Up, Doc?', which also stars Ryan O'Neal. Barbra Streisand's character coos that "Love means never having to say you're sorry" while batting her eyelashes, and O'Neal's character responds, deadpan, "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard."

(agreed. by the way, Ryan O'Neal was the hero in the movie adaptation of the book.)

2. John Lennon said, "Love means having to say you're sorry every fifteen minutes.

(what, you don't know John Lennon?)

3. in The Simpsons episode "Catch 'Em if You Can", where the Simpson family watch Love Story; when the line is spoken, Lisa objects, "No it doesn't!"

post script;

erich segal was a popular author during the 70's and 80's. if you are in MMU, you can find his novels on the fiction shelves. they are worth it i am telling you.

here is a review of my favorite of his work; The Class. it is a work of a genius, in my opinion.

i capture the castle

i had never thought you can ever feel melancholy in the heart but at the same time feel like smiling..

i never thought the book will end like that, but i knew i did sense it will end like that..

it is actually the perfect ending to the book..

it is just that....

...well, the whole thing is really making me feeling rather melancholy.

i am looking for sad music to feed my 'rather melancholy' soul.

setiap hari hujan

rain droplets,
fall you from the skies,
offer my heart a warmness i never knew of.

rain droplets,
fall you from the skies,
offer my heart a feeling of peace i never knew of.

rain droplets,
fall you from the skies,
offer my mind a state i never knew of.

rain droplets,
fall you from the skies,
offer my skin a chill i never knew of.

rain droplets,
fall you from the skies,
offer my eyes a beauty i never knew of.

rain droplets,
fall you from the skies,
offer my life new things i never knew of.

our laoshi posted this on mmls recently. she was encouraging us to do online evaluation so that the deans and faculties may know the performance of all lecturers...

all the comments i wrote on my lecturers are of course, p&c...but i'm making public the comment i made on the facilities..(the words in red are additional points)

"Tutorial rooms in FOM are not in good condition, even though they are brand new. Classes in FOE is much more comfortable.(**adakah budak foe lebih penting dr fom?huhu, all the engineers will not be working properly without us the managers and ceos..hahaha,ok this is not me saying, i'm quoting someone)

A lot of the table (attached) to the chair has loose screw(i don't how to put this into words) (in FOM, pls fix them)..etc etc..

i pay my internet bills, but the server is often down..yes, even the intranet.

library facilities are overall excellent.

what do u mean by scheduled time to use computer in the labs? it is always locked, how are students who don't have pc or broken pc supposed to access internet(intranet) for learning purpose?(or assignments)"(**and again, in foe, the lab is always open..but fom student will want to be using fom labs cause all the accounting software are there)

the end...

** i'm only commenting on foe facilities because it is the only other faculty i'm having my classes at besides fom

note to najat before you go mad with me: i'm not being grateful, i wrote this cause i'm paying every cent on everything.

random/weird facts

1. i recently discovered that i have the tendency to cry over everything sad and heart-breaking. something i never could bring myself to before this.

2. i am a hygiene-freak and many people do not know this. perfection is so important to me when it come to hygiene. that's why i'll never adjust properly living in a hostel.

3. i have almost zero cooking knowledge. (some of my friends had been deluded, i don't know how, into the idea that i'm a good cook. so now you know i'm not lying) way back in my high school, i developed this weird habit of sneaking out imported cooking and recipes books out of school library. (they are in the red spot, means you can't borrow it legally) wani think this is laughable and funny because i still don't know how to cook any mouthwatering cuisine. as if looking at it(the books) a thousands time will make you a master chef. but i seriously want to learn cooking because it looks like a fun activity.

4. i am gadget person. any gadgets except for game consoles will never fail to awe me.

5. the three thing i can't live without are water, toothbrush and my spectacles.

6. i don't have any reason for why i switched to study business (accounting), some people keep asking me this stupid question. so, please stop.

7. i have a harry potter scar on my nose. like, true, so don't laugh.

**doing this reminds me of those friendster days when i posted every non-sense on the bulletin board.

by the way, i tag anyone who read this
